A Lake District classic! Probably the most famous scramble in the Lake District.
Scramble along the knifes ridge of striding edge then up to the summit of Helvellyn.(960m). Striding Edge is on every keen scramblers to do list, and for good reason! A Great intro to the exposure of ridge scrambling and then rewarded with one of the best mountain views in the UK.
After soaking up the views from the summit of Helvellyn and a well deserved lunch stop, we descend via another ridge line scramble “Swirral edge”, to complete an unforgettable circular route!
Who for?
This route is best suited for experienced hikers, Or those with a reasonable fitness level. If you have not done any scrambling before then we offer an Intro to Scrambling, which will make you more confident and feeling more prepared for the exposure of Striding Edge.
