Crib Goch! The Red Ridge, one of the most exciting and daring routes up to Snowdon. Part of the welsh 3000’s route and the Dragons back race!
Starting from Pen y pass we will quickly gain elevation as we climb up to the start of the ridge (923m above sea level) with spectacular views down to Llyn Llydaw below us as we scramble across an exposed knives edge. This one isn’t for those with an aversion to heights!
More Scrambling lies ahead with Crib Y Ddysgl before we reach the summit of Carnedd Ugain (1065m) followed by a nice stroll to the summit of Snowdon (1085m), Descent can be your choice, down Llanberis path or down Pyg or Miners (back down to pen y pass).
Who for?
Experienced Hikers with having done at least one grade 1 scramble. If you have not done any scrambling before then we offer an Intro to Scrambling, which will make you more confident and feeling more prepared for the exposure of Crib Goch.
