The Tallest Mountain in England (but not the UK), Scafell Pike, One of the National three Peaks, sits 978m (3,309ft) above sea level!
The most popular mountain in the Lake District has a multitude of routes up to the summit. We offer a few different route options - Starting either from Wasdale head, Langdale, Seathwaite or Eskdale, each offer different experiences depending on what you want out of your day.
Scafell Pikes name Comes from Old Norse, ‘skalli’ = bald, lacking in vegetation; ‘fjall’ = fell (mountain); ‘pik’ = peak, highest point. Simplified it is “Bald Mountain Peak”.
